Get the Data You Need
Train inside or outdoors. The Forerunner 50 provides you with instant workout data, including training time, pace, distance, lap pace, lap time, lap distance, average and best pace, calories, and maximum and average heart rate. It also records both lap and detailed data. Available in three different versions, the Forerunner 50 comes bundled with different accessories (also available separately) to help you track your progress for whatever moves you.

Listen to Your Heart
Forerunner 50 with wireless heart rate effectively tracks and records your heart rate while you work out, providing instant feedback about how hard your heart is working. The included digital heart rate monitor continuously tracks heart beats per minute, which is wirelessly transmitted to the Forerunner 50. Even train in a certain heart rate zone to improve your fitness level. And well after your workout is done, Forerunner 50 is still working, wirelessly transmitting your training data to your PC.

Measure Speed and Distance
Garmin's wireless Foot Pod (sold separately) lets you track your running speed, distance, and calories burned while on the treadmill or pavement. Just snap the Foot Pod into a clip on your shoelaces, and it's ready to send data to Forerunner 50 as soon as you start moving. After your workout, Forerunner 50 automatically transfers the data to your computer when within range.

Track Your Ride
When paired with an optional speed/cadence sensor (sold separately), Forerunner 50 tracks the speed and distance of your cycling workouts. The wireless speed/cadence sensor attaches securely to your bike and measures your pedaling cadence and wheel speed as you ride. You can even use it to train indoors because the sensor attaches to your rear wheel.

Run, Sync, Store, and Share
You've logged the miles, and now you want to store them. With Garmin's innovative ANT+ wireless technology, your workouts are automatically transferred to your computer when your device is within range. No cables, no hookups. The data's just there, ready for you to analyze, categorize, and share through Garmin's online community, Garmin Connect, or the Garmin Training Center software.

Usually ships in 24 hours

Forerunner 210 gives you the freedom to train indoors or out, while tracking every minute and every mile. This GPS-enabled sport watch accurately records how far, how fast and how hard you worked.

Easy to Use

We made the Forerunner 210 simple to use so you can focus on your workout. Out of the box, you’ll charge it, take it outside to find GPS satellites and answer a few setup questions. Then just press start and take off. Once you’re done, press stop. It really is that easy.

Take it Further

For runners who want more training capabilities, Forerunner 210 lets you create customized interval sessions and see your pace for each interval. If you’re using the 210 with the foot pod, you will later be able to see your cadence, or steps per minute, when you upload your data to Garmin Connect.

Follow Your Heart

Some versions of the Forerunner 210 come bundled with our premium soft strap heart rate monitor to display your heart rate in beats per minute. It has five heart rate zones, which you can customize based on your exact zones. You can also set up heart rate alerts to notify you when you are above or below your targets. Forerunner 210 provides heart rate-based calorie computations so you can more accurately track your calories burned.

Outdoors or In

We took the easy-to-use operations of the Forerunner 110 and added indoor capabilities, making the 210 the perfect sport watch for those who like options. For outdoor runs, Forerunner 210 uses GPS to accurately record your time, pace and distance. To track that same data at the gym, snap the foot pod¹ onto your shoe and you’re good to go. Using advanced accelerometer technology, the foot pod collects and sends precise data about your movements, gathering distance and speed data that is 98 percent accurate for most users, right out of the box.

For even more options, Forerunner 210 also works with certain indoor fitness equipment so you can track and store data from a treadmill run or an indoor cycling workout. This capability helps you bridge the gap between your indoor and outdoor fitness activities so you can continually track your progress.

Store, Analyze and Share

Whether you’re training for a race or launching a healthier lifestyle, you’ll love the motivation that comes from reviewing your workouts online. Tracking your data is simple with Garmin Connect™, our website for free data analysis and sharing. Just upload to Garmin Connect from your PC or Mac, then see the route you traveled on a map, view a summary of your workout data, create goals and more. For indoor activities when the GPS isn’t in use, you won’t see mapping in Garmin Connect, but you’ll still have a record of your workout data.

Monitor Your Health

You also can track weight, body fat, body water and six other measurements when using the Forerunner 210 with the Tanita BC-1000 body composition scale. The readings are stored on Forerunner 210, then automatically sent to Garmin Connect when in range of your computer.

Fast and Accurate

Forerunner 210 features HotFix® satellite prediction, which means it locks onto satellites quickly so you can be out the door and on with your run in no time. It also has a high-sensitivity GPS receiver to stay locked onto satellites, even near tall buildings or under tree cover.

¹Included with some models, sold separately on others.

Garmin 405 Forerunner - 3 Tips How You Never Run Alone

!±8± Garmin 405 Forerunner - 3 Tips How You Never Run Alone

The Garmin 405 Forerunner makes running so much more enjoyable because you never have to run alone again. Even if you don't have a running partner when you set off, the Garmin 405 Forerunner provides a solution.

In this article, I will show you 3 tips how the Garmin 405 Forerunner will keep you motivated and oriented just like a real life running partner.

Whether you are running, cycling or interval training, this wireless GPS enabled sports watch will keep you striving for more and help you to get the best from your run or workout.

1. Your Virtual Running Partner

Apart from tracking your distance, pace and heart rate, the Garmin 405 Forerunner will pitch your actual performance against your personal goals.

Setting your goals for a number of variables sets up your Virtual Partner. For instance, you set the pace you are aiming for, and when you run you will see in real time how far ahead or behind you are against your Virtual Partner.

2. Garmin Forerunner 405 - Your Indoors Running Partner

This feature will work indoors as well as outdoors. However, indoors running on a track or a treadmill requires the use of a foot pod because the building shields the Garmin 405 Forerunner from the GPS signal. The Forerunner needs one of these to be able to track your performance in real time.

The Garmin foot pod and Forerunner 405 communicate wirelessly. Make sure you pair them before you start using the foot pod for the first time. To avoid interference this has to be done at a distance from other foot pods or ANT+ Sport devices that don't belong to you.

3. Forerunner 405 GPS - Your Local Running Guide

The GPS function of the Garmin 405 Forerunner will record your track once the timer is switched on and the GPS has been enabled.

Enabling the GPS function for the first time requires you to be in line of sight of the sky, that is not under a roof or in the shade of a building. Keep the Forerunner 405 still until the Satellite connection is established. While this can take a few minutes initially, the Forerunner's Hot Fix features gets you off and running in no time when you start your next run.

Your Garmin 405 Forerunner can now serve as your guide in unknown territory. It will take you a second time around a new route or a strange city without you having to remember any of the landmarks and without danger of getting lost. You can even exchange data with a real life running partner who may not know your route. As long as your partner wears a Forerunner 405, you transmit the information wirelessly, and no one will get lost.

To sum up, the Garmin Forerunner 405 is your running partner on your wrist outdoors and indoors and can act as your guide away from home. With this GPS enabled sports watch you never have to run alone. But there is more to the Forerunner 405 than just a running partner.

Garmin Forerunner 610 - How to Update Firmware

This video tutorial quickly shows you how to update the firmware of your garmin forerunner 610. This process is actually the same for all of Garmin's wireless devices such as the 405, 410 & 310. This video shows the upgrade from firmware 2.20 to 2.30 First we go to garmin connect, sometimes, we see an alert that we have a new firmware available. Other times, we can check on my.garmin.com on our dashboard. We assume that you registered your garmin device. From there, you need to install the garmin communicator plugin for your browser and you can start your download. The first part to download from garmin's servers is easy & quick. The next step, transferring to your device may take up to 15 minutes. It's important to not touch anything while this happens. once the firmware has been transferred via the ANT agent, it will load & install the software. This might take 2-3 minutes. Once complete, the device should reboot and you are ready to use your forerunner Changes made from version 2.20 to 2.30: Fixed an issue with GPS accuracy decreasing for a short period of time when the timer was started or lapped. Improved transfers to Garmin ANT Agent. Added a progress bar for files currently being transferred to Garmin ANT Agent. Fixed screen pixilation issue seen on some devices while in power save mode. Fixed an issue with the average lap timer data field not populating correctly. Fixed an issue with the workout banner not always appearing on the screen to display the next step ...

Garmin Forerunner 210 Review

!±8± Garmin Forerunner 210 Review

The Garmin Forerunner 210 is a fantastic heart rate monitor, for a lot of different reasons. First off, the version featuring the foot pod accessory gives you unparalleled flexibility for your training. Not only does the foot pod enable you to collect training data while you work out indoors, but the Garmin Forerunner 210 can also connect to many indoor fitness machines. This means you can collect data pretty much no matter where you choose to get your workout. The small size of the Forerunner 210 makes it easy to forget while it's on your wrist, meaning you can focus more on your workout and less on adjusting a clunky unit. Just its size alone makes it a great advancement in Garmin's Forerunner line.

The Garmin Forerunner 210 is extremely easy to use and detects satellites quickly. The premium version of the Forerunner 210, which includes the foot pod and a softer chest strap, is well worth the extra. There are, however, some excellent features in the higher-end Forerunners that are lacking in the Garmin Forerunner 210.

The Virtual Partner, courses mode, automatic pause, and pace notifications are all missing in the Forerunner 210. These features are indispensable for anyone who is truly serious about their training. These features also might be what turns a casual runner into a serious one, giving them the extra push they need to take their fitness to the next level.

Still, the Forerunner 210 allows the same data-sharing capabilities of more expensive model, allowing you to upload your maps and routes onto websites like Map My Run, Map My Ride, or even Google Earth. Cyclists can certainly use the Garmin Forerunner 210, but it is not compatible with cadence sensors. This means that it will still capture your speed, mileage, and heart rate information but it will not record data on your cadence. And, as usual, users can use Garmin Connect to share and analyze data with other Forerunner users.

As for the GPS signal, the Garmin Forerunner 210 does very well. It captures and maintains signals even around tall buildings and in the woods. In this respect, it is a great leap forward from earlier models. While the Forerunner 210 might not quite be feature-packed enough for advanced users and serious athletes, it has the ease of use, convenient size, great satellite reception, and features that any casual user would be quite pleased with.
